Logo Project-- Final

For my logo, I tried to make the icon look like the face of a dog, looking directly at the camera. I wanted to keep the design relatively simple, so that it would seem more catchy, and so I therefore left the title out of the icon. I added gradient in the background to make it seem warmer. I captured the brown color from the picture of a dog below, and used the photo as a reference to what the angle looking up a dogs snout is like, and to get the shape of the mouth. I refrained from including the dog ears to allow for a simpler, more sleek look.

Logo Critique

iTunes vs. Spotify Logos

iTunes and Spotify are two music services with very similar logos. Both are rounded, and represent something music related. iTunes' icon includes a music note in the center, so that people immediately know that the company is related to music. Spotify's logo has three lines that look similar to sound waves or a volume button, however it is more vague than iTunes. Both logos are targetting people who love music, and iTunes does a better job of catch the eye than Spotify does. The color choices on iTunes are also more eye-catching, with the gradient, whereas Spotify is a solid green. iTunes is definitely more successful, do to its eye-catching colors, and use of easily recognizable symbols.
